A Little Late

My hope and goal was to write at least once per month, this post comes about 6 weeks after my last which is pretty good considering I had over a year between posts last time. 

The snow is finally starting to melt and the temperature is trying desperately to warm up.  I have lived in this great state for 35 years and this is the latest spring I ever remember.  I know I live in Alaska, and should be used to cold weather, but I'm not, in fact I detest it and look forward to April EVERY SINGLE YEAR!!!  This April was a bit chilly.  The worst was that it started to warm up and then with out fail would snow again, and again. It didn't help that my DH was able to escape to Puerto Rico and southern CA during the month of April.  No fair!!

Last year at this time we were out on the river in our boat, but this year the ice has yet to go out.  We are still waiting for the ice to go out.  In fact the Nenana River ice has not gone out either.  I believe this is going to be the 2nd latest ice classic date ever.  I guess it still could be the latest as the ice hasn't gone out yet.  I am OVER winter and ready for the warm weather.

Zoe and I have done a couple of races and they have been pretty chilly.  Zoe is becoming quite the runner.  She ran a 5K last week in 30 minutes!! Way to go Zoe!! I am so proud of her.  We are hoping to get out this evening but it is very windy and chilly out.  We'll see, depends on how much I want to bundle up.

Holy Cow Batman-It has been over a year

I really have no excuse as to why it has been over a year since that last time that I posted on this blog.  Oh wait, maybe I do know.  I have a wonderful husband that I try to pay attention to, 3 adorable children, a teaching career, attending grad school, soccer, swimming and the list goes on as to why my life is a bit busy. 

I really enjoy reading the blogs of others, and it always seems as if they have so many profound words to profess that I sometimes think, "I have nothing to say in comparison to them."  But the real reason I started blogging was to keep a running journal of my family's life events, not to impress others.  I don't know how often I really will blog, but I sure hope that I can commit to at least once a month. 

I know my life isn't as crazy as so me, but I don't know how those "really busy people" do it all.  My question is...What gives? I try to make dinner, keep the house clean, enjoy my passions, spend time with family etc etc etc, but I just can't seem to do it all.  I am kind of a homebody in that, I like to be home in the evening with my family.  I enjoy spending evenings at our home doing family activities, but it just doesn't seem to happen lately.  We are being pulled in 100 directions all of the time. 

Enough about that.  I am off to run errands, run kids to soccer, make dinner and enjoy my life. 

This is a cute, from my phone, picture of the kids watching the finish of the Yukon Quest.  It was a beautiful evening, for February, so we put on our winter gear and headed down on to the river to watch a few mushers come across the finish line.

LONG Time No Blog

I love the idea of a blog, but don't do it very often and am not even sure if anyone ever looks at my blog, but thought I would share a few pics of my kiddos. These wee taken by my wonderful friend, Annie of Enderle Photography!!!! I LOVE that she captures my kids!

Snowman

I love this huge snowman. We went to Chena Hot Springs back in March during spring break and they had this huge snowman there. One of the cool things about this guy was that he had a face on both sides. The girls thought that was hilarious. It was the first time either of the girls had been there and they had a great time. Hailey loved the pool because she could touch the bottom.
